School meal prices frozen in Hampshire schools

School meal prices frozen School meal prices frozen

THE COST of school meals in Hampshire is to be frozen – for the fourth year running.

Councillor Roy Perry, executive member for children’s services and deputy leader of the county council, this week approved keeping the price at £2 a meal for both primary and secondary schools.

For this sum, pupils get a hot, two-course meal.

School catering chiefs say take-up has improved steadily year-on-year and has now reached a record high. Now nearly four out of ten primary pupils (39 per cent) have a school meal five days of the week.

I trust the picture is not a true example of a 'meal' given to kids!

The standard of meals given at my childrens primary school is fantastic. This is really really good value for money.

The picture is value for money? A few peas and sweetcorn with a cake valued at £2?

The picture posted I could serve for 20p
