“A HAPPY school with happy children.”
Ofsted inspectors say that description by a parent is the perfect way to sum up Foxhills Infant School.
They have just graded the school in Colbury, between Totton and Ashurst, as “good”, and praised its teaching, curriculum and youngsters’ “polite and helpful” behaviour.
Inspectors were especially full of praise for the way pupils feel safe in school, the effectiveness of care, guidance and support, and the use of partnerships in promoting learning and well-being.
Delighted headteacher Jane Barrett said the report gives backing to the ethos running through the school.
“The outstanding we got was in care, guidance and support, which supports our whole premise of nurturing the child and making sure the stability and happiness is there before the learning begins,” she said.
“Our standards will continue to rise through the nurturing element of our school.”
