Leaden Hall School has a strong tradition of supporting the local community. Last year they raised £2,500 for local charities, as well as providing voluntary work for the John McNeill Centre, for young children with special needs.

This week the Leaden Hall girls supported the Early Early Christmas Fair in Tidworth by running a stall selling handmade arts and crafts, in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 have been busy sewing gift bags, harvesting lavender grown in the school grounds and creating lavender bags, sculpting pottery Christmas decorations, creating beautiful peg dollies and fairies, and some of their artwork was even turned into stunning professional notecards.

The Charity Committee (five Year 6 girls who meet weekly to discuss which charities to support and co-ordinate the school’s involvement) then manned the stall and sold their fabulous products.

The fair was very busy and raised a significant amount of money. Leaden Hall believes very strongly in the value of community support and togetherness, and this is evident around the school.

The girls are all-inclusive, the older girls play with and look after the younger girls, and there is an overwhelming feeling of unity. This ethos is so special to Leaden Hall and the girls thrive in the family-like environment.

To experience this for yourself, arrange a visit or come along to our Autumn Open Days.
