BUSY yet cheerful, the pupils have settled into a new year at Chafyn Grove beautifully.

Whether new to the school or an old hand, friendships are blossoming and there is a lovely sense of purpose about the place.

Year 7 has spent a week in Northumberland, staying in a castle and visiting Lindisfarne among many other things, while Year 8 went on a weekend of outward bound activities. Year 6 has been to Portchester Castle, Year 2 has visited Brownsea Island, while the children from Early Years have explored Langford Lakes.

The children have also managed to fit in some work and enjoy their sporting and creative activities, with a win at the Canford Hockey Festival for the senior girls and rehearsals under way for The Wizard of Oz. A sports tour to Ireland and a choir tour to Paris are fast approaching.

There are normal days, too. The children work hard in their classrooms and enjoy finding out about the world around them in the school grounds and further afield. A varied curriculum with a choice of activities provide a stimulating week. Chafyn Grove has happy, purposeful children who enjoy each other’s company – come and see for yourselves during the open day this Saturday from 10am-12.30pm.
