KING Edward VI School (KES), Southampton, is one of the UK’s leading independent co-educational day schools that has a thriving sixth form offering an independent choice for students in Hampshire.

The KES sixth form has a record for academic excellence and last year’s examination results consolidated the School’s first-rate reputation with 88 per cent of A level grades awarded at A*-B and more than 25 per cent of all A levels graded at A*.

These results ensured that 82 per cent of students proceeded to one of the UK’s top 25 universities with ten per cent being offered places at Oxford or Cambridge.

Sixth form class sizes are small, less than ten, allowing students to work in university seminar-style environments and affording individual teaching and guidance.

Alongside academic studies, students are encouraged to take part in a huge amount of co-curricular activities. Overseas trips, charitable and community work as well as a multitude of clubs and societies bring a healthy balance to a busy academic timetable.

KES also offers sixth formers outstanding sporting and creative arts facilities.

Both of these faculties provide numerous opportunities for sixth form involvement in which they are expected to assume a leading role.

Easy access to KES from across the county is facilitated by the school’s 17 bus routes.
