ACCORDING to Ofsted 2015, Sarum Academy Sixth Form pupils benefit from “teaching that leads to very successful learning”.
The impressive 100 per cent pass rate on results on all A-level courses and the fact pupils achieve highly in all work-related courses were praised in the most recent report, with the Sixth Form being awarded ‘Good’ overall.
Pupils aged 16-18 have the opportunity to not only study a diverse range of traditional A-level subjects and a wide selection of BTEC courses but can equally pursue specialist pathways in either football or hairdressing.
The Salisbury school works with the newly promoted Premier League club AFC Bournemouth in a partnership that sees senior coaches such as Head Coach and Ex-Manchester United professional player Russell Beardsmore involved in the Elite Football Programme, which is open to talented football players who wish to pursue BTEC Level 3 Sports Studies.
Aspiring hairdressers have equally promising opportunities at both Level 2 and 3 led by the hairdressing team from Kudos Salon at Southampton City College, where overall success rates are high and significantly above the national average.
