Welcome to the Journal Gang's web pages. Here you can find Jill's weekly newsletter, containing information about what is happening on the Gang page in the paper and pictures of competition winners. Don't forget to visit our fun links page, where you can find lots of games and exciting sites to visit on the internet, and our new gallery of pictures that you've sent in.

If you are aged 13 or under and would like to join The Journal Gang click here and fill in our online form now. Because we've changed the way we run the Gang, even if you used to be a member you need to fill out the new form to make sure you aren't left out.

New members receive a welcome letter, certificate and badge, their own membership number which means they can enter all our Gang competitions, and they also get a special mention in the paper just before their birthday.

Well done to our youngest winner, Phoebe

HELLO everyone and welcome to the Journal Gang page. We start this week by saying well done to Phoebe Luce who is one of the Gang’s youngest ever winners. Phoebe is only one and she won a £50 voucher for Smyths toy shop in Salisbury. Well done Phoebe – I hope you spent it on some great toys and are enjoying playing with them.

Draw a picture of the Queen for your chance to go to Longleat

HELLO Gang and welcome to a very special page. This week has been very important for Salisbury as the Queen came to visit on Tuesday. Hundreds of children lined the route to wave flags and see the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as they passed through the city. The country is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and this week we’re launching a very special competition where we’re asking children to draw a portrait of the Queen. There are fantastic prizes to be won and you could see your picture printed in the Salisbury Journal’s special Jubilee Weekend supplement.

Ready for the Queen

HELLO everyone and welcome to the Journal Gang page. The Queen is coming to Salisbury on Tuesday and I expect that lots of you will be waving flags and hoping to see her. It’s a very important year for the Queen as it’s her Diamond Jubilee which means she’s been on the throne for 60 years. She’ll be arriving on the Royal Train, which is a special train the Queen travels on when she visits different places around the country. The Queen is going to visit the Cathedral Close and Salisbury Cathedral and I’m sure that hundreds of children will be lining the route to wish her well. Next week we’ll be launching a great next competition where you’ll be asked to draw a picture of the Queen and there will be some great prizes up for grabs.

Full of chocolate?

HELLO everyone and welcome to the Journal Gang page. I hope that you had a great Easter. Did you get lots of chocolate eggs and have you eaten them already? Someone who received a delicious chocolate treat just in time for Easter is Gang winner India Rogers. India won this Hotel Chocolat Chicken Coup box. Well done, I hope it tasted fantastic. I had a great time doing an Easter egg hunt in the garden and managed to track down lots of yummy chocolate eggs – my favourite.
