HI everyone and welcome to the Journal Gang page. This week I received a fantastic letter from Gang member Oliver Hopkins who is a budding media star.
Oliver, who goes to Woodford Valley Primary, won the chance to spend the morning at Spire FM in an auction of promises, that was raising money for his school.
On the morning of his eighth birthday Oliver went on air with DJ Chris Ewington as he presented his breakfast show.
He said he was allowed to press buttons, slide switches and wear headphones and he even got to speak live on the radio.
"When I got back to school all my friends were cheering" he told me. "I felt like a VIP!"
Well done Oliver! It sounds like you had a brilliant time and thanks for telling me all about it. Please keep your news and pictures coming in and I'll try my best to use them on the Gang page.
The famous children's author Jeremy Strong called into Wilton Library last week to read to local children and we'll be finding out all about his visit.
If you like monster stories, then this week's competition is just for you and make sure you look out for your birthday if you are celebrating.
See you next week,
Jill
