Hi Gang and welcome to your weekly page. Today the sun is shining and I hope that you are all getting out and about and enjoying the warm, fresh air.
There are so many things you can do outdoors, from a picnic in a park to exploring some of the fascinating creatures that live in our gardens. August is the perfect time for butterfly spotting and it is great fun identifying the beautiful insects as they gather nectar from flowers.
If you do not have a butterfly spotting book, you can always pop into your local library. There are always plenty of wildlife and natural history books on the shelves to choose from. Sadly, there have been far too many grey days too this summer, but that has meant I have had time to watch all the amazing athletes at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Many of the medal winning athletes started their chosen sports when they were children, getting the bug from riding their bicycles, swimming lengths in their local pools, being a member of a gymnastics club or running at school sports days.
I would love to hear from any Gang members who are really keen on an Olympic sport, meanwhile if the rainy days continue, take a look at some of the workshops to attend until the end of the holidays.
Bye,
