11:34am Thursday 24th November 2011 in Gang Page
HELLO everyone and welcome to the Journal Gang page. Winter is almost here – I’m sure you’ve noticed there aren’t many leaves left on the trees and the weather is getting chilly. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t lots of interesting things to see if you go outside.
Fungus such as mushrooms and toadstools grows very well at this time of year and Emily Shield, who is 10 and goes to St Mark’s School, found this impressive example in Victoria Park while she was out walking her dog. Thanks for sending in the picture, that fungus is huge.
It’s important not to touch mushrooms or toadstools if you see them growing as they can be harmful, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t interesting to look at and photograph.
This week we are finding out about Zouch’s Primary School’s international success and you could be off to see The Borrowers at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton with the great Gang competition.
See you next time, Jill
