SALISBURY Playhouse has announced the cast for its first production of the spring season, Dangerous Corner.

JB Priestley’s classic English drama, which will run from January 31 until February 23 and is directed by the theatre’s artistic director Gareth Machin, is set in 1932 and focuses on a group of young publishing executives on a country retreat.

They have the world at their feet but events take an unexpected turn and the darkness that lies beneath the glamorous façade is exposed.

The production will be designed by Dawn Allsopp with lighting by Peter Hunter and sound by Alex Twiselton.

It will feature Ellie Beavan and Edmund Kingsley, who last appeared together at the Playhouse in The Importance of Being Earnest.

Beavan has recently been performing in Charley’s Aunt at the Menier Chocolate Factory alongside Jane Asher and Matthew Horne.

The cast also includes Kirsty Besterman, Tim Dutton, Ruth Everett, Mawgan Gyles and Stephanie Jacob.
