MODCULTURE is coming to south Wiltshire in the form of a musical extravaganza to be held in Tidworth.

March of the Mods is a celebration of the Mod movement of the 1960s as well as a fundraiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The event, being held at the Royal British Legion, is being organised by the Kiwi Throttlers Scooter Club, which has previously put on events in aid of organisations such as Naomi House children’s hospice and forces charities.

March of the Mods events are being held across the country during March this year, with 17 towns and cities helping to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and Barclays Bank pledging to double the amount raised.

The Tidworth event will feature local group The Reluctant Sons, followed by Gloucester band The Q and The Butterfly Collective before headline act The Universal, from Liverpool.

There will also be DJs spinning rare soul from the Tamla Motown vaults to the more obscure Northern Soul floor fillers.

One DJ is Ministry of Dance, who is flying in especially for the event from San Antonio, Ibiza.

There will also be an auction of memorabilia and some special guests in attendance.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 9 from noon to midnight.

Tickets are £15 from Paul Ungi on 07807 815448.
