FOLLOWING her success with Way Upstream, Salisbury Playhouse is welcoming back director Lucy Pitman-Wallace as she returns to direct Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy about couples on the tennis court, Joking Apart.

The cast includes Sally Scott, who also appeared in Way Upstream, which was the Playhouse’s most successful play for more than a decade.

Played out in the same garden over a 12-year period, Joking Apart follows golden couple Anthea and Richard. Charming, generous and successful, they can’t help but attract loyal and loving friends. But are they really the ideal couple they appear to be?

This co-production with Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company is designed by TomRogers (The Spire and Epsom Downs), with lighting by Johanna Town and sound by Paul Dodgson.

The cast also includes Will Barton, Katie Brayben, Natasha Byrne, Robert Curtis, Edward Harrison, Thorston Manderlay and Emily Pithon.

* Joking Apart is at Salisbury Playhouse from February 27 to March 23. Box office: 01722 320333 or visit salisburyplayhouse.com.
