GET your suspenders at the ready - The Rocky Horror Show is coming.

The cult show will be at the Mayflower in Southampton in May, with television stars Dani Harmer and Sam Attwater as the all-American Janet and Brad, thrust into the surreal world of Dr Frank-N-Furter.

The 40th anniversary production takes place from May 13 to 18, with West End actor Oliver Thornton taking on the role of the flamboyant and enigmatic Dr Frank ‘n’ Furter.

Since its first appearance in June 1973, the show has been performed worldwide in more than 30 countries and has been translated into 20 languages.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Christopher Luscombe has created a new production for a year-long UK tour.

Attwater has appeared in EastEnders and Hollyoaks and starred in West End shows including Dreamboats and Petticoats. Harmer, a 2012 Strictly Come Dancing finalist, is known as the star of children’s TV show Tracy Beaker.

The show tells the story of Brad and his fiancée Janet, who meet Dr Frank- N-Furter by chance when their car breaks down outside his house.

It combines science-fiction, horror, comedy and music and encourages audience participation, including donning outrageous fancy dress.

Tickets are available now from mayflower.org.uk or on 02380 711811.
