The Blues Brothers at the Mayflower.
THE BLUES BROTHERS, THE MAYFLOWER, SOUTHAMPTON
CHEEKY double act Jake and Elwood Blues lit up the Mayflower with their impressive singing and hilarious moves.
The Blues Brothers rocked the theatre, with the audience having a bit of a boogie and singing along to the familiar songs.
This upbeat musical, based on the cult 1980 film starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, follows Jake and Elwood on an eventful tour of the US.
Soul, rock, R&B, blues and jazz were combined well and delivered strongly by Brad Henshaw as Jake and Chris Chandler as Elwood, with the sharp suits and signature moves they are known for.
The Bluettes in their sparkling dresses and smooth band members on the pub-themed stage gave the show a real concert feel.
And William Hazell had the audience chuckling away with his solos in a series of wild costumes.
This energetic show can’t help but engage you with its feel-good fun.
