FEAR OF MUSIC, SALBERG STUDIO, SALISBURY PLAYHOUSE
THIS raw and touching play about the lives of two brothers took the audience on a memorable journey.
Focussing on a struggling family living on a run-down estate, Salisbury writer Barney Norris’s Fear of Music is a clever and engaging drama.
Siblings Luke and Andy have entirely different career aspirations, with troubled younger brother Andy becoming fixated on following in his father’s footsteps and joining the Army, clashing with the older Luke who is striving towards university.
The balanced tale, which sees the siblings regularly squabbling in their bedroom, is fast-moving, and powerful, but also witty at times.
Hasan Dixon as the ambitious Luke, gave a convincing and humorous performance and Jack Finch as Andy did a smart job too.
This enjoyable performance was a great way to kick-start this year’s Theatre Fest West festival which brings regional theatrical talent to the city.
