Young snappers in the picture
4:11pm Thursday 15th August 2013 in Entertainments
TWO young photographers are currently displaying their work at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury in an exhibition that steps away from the gallery’s more traditional slant of landscape and portrait photography.
Entitled Shadow Dweller, the exhibition by Naomi Tostevin and Georgia Neville in the Studio Gallery features obscure photographs linked to fashion, fairytales, SteamPunk and CyberPunk.
The 18-year-olds, who have just completed their A-levels, say they are interested in the darker, alternative side of art and are hugely inspired by artists such as Steven Klein, Joshua Hoffine and Tim Burton.
Georgia, from Tisbury, is now going on to study theatrical makeup at the Delamar Academy in London while Naomi, from Shaftesbury, is planning to study photography in Hertfordshire.
The exhibition runs until August 31.
Fisherton Mill is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
