Baroque celebrates Corelli
SALISBURY’S period instrument ensemble Salisbury Baroque celebrates the works of Corelli and his contemporaries in its concert at St Thomas’s Church on Sunday at 3.30pm.
The concert will feature works by both well-known and lesser known composers of the Italian Baroque including Corelli, Albinoni, Geminiani, Mancini and Vivaldi.
Director and soloist Catherine Martin is a distinguished period instrument specialist and her talents are much in demand.
She will be appearing alongside soloist Cheri Richens who is well known in the Salisbury area as a teacher and principal flautist of Salisbury Sinfonia.
Founded by David Morgan, Salisbury Baroque was set up in 2010 to enable local musicians to share their passion for the music of Bach and Handel and their contemporaries with audiences in historic settings.
Tickets are available in advance from Cross Keys Bookshop and on the door.
