Duncan Honeybourne to play at chamber music club
SALISBURY Chamber Music Club’s next concert will feature a distinguished pianist.
Duncan Honeybourne, pictured, will perform for the club on November 2 from 7.30pm at the United Reformed Church in Fisherton Street.
The concert will celebrate the return of the club’s Broadwood piano after its restoration at the Broadwood workshop in Kent, and Honeybourne’s recital will include pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Haydn and Elgar, who all composed on Broadwood pianos.
The restoration of the piano, which dates from 1905 and is an early example of a “barless” piano, was funded with the help of grants from Arts Council England and Wiltshire Council.
