FIVE artists shortlisted for the Althea Wynne photographic bursary are holding a group show at the Young Gallery in Salisbury, opening on Saturday.

Olivia Clifton-Bligh, Davina Kemble, Jeff Pigott, Jo Taylor and Celia Smith are all sculptors, whose work stands on the floor or on plinths at the gallery in Salisbury Library.

Their show promises to provide an exciting alternative to Christmas shopping, and visitors can expect to see a range of sculptures using clay, wood, bronze, paper and wire.

Althea Wynne was a noted sculptor working in bronze and clay. She died in a car crash in 2012.

The bursary in her memory is being awarded by the Friends of the Garden group and will enable the winner to commission a professional photographer to create promotional images of his or her work.

The winner of the bursary, worth £1,100, will be judged during the Salisbury exhibition and announced on January 10 at the preview to a second exhibition at the Pound in Corsham.

The exhibition runs until December 31.
