CLASSICAL ballet for Christmas is being performed at The Lights in Andover.

Ballet Theatre UK will bring Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to the theatre next weekend.

After saving her beloved nutcracker from the king of the rats, Clara is whisked away to an enchanted land and dances the night away in his arms, meeting a host of strange and exotic characters before she is finally transformed into a beautiful ballerina.

The night passes in a blur and she wakes up on Christmas morning, at the foot of the Christmas tree, with memories that will stay with her forever.

This production combines magical choreography with Tchaikovsky’s most loved musical score, dancers in more than 80 exquisite new costumes and some breathtaking scenery to create an atmosphere of pure fantasy and illusion.

Meet the Sugar Plum Fairy, see the Waltz of the Flowers and the Russian Trepak, the dance of the Reed Pipes and the world famous Waltz of the Snowflakes in this work on Saturday, December 14.
