HUGH Hetherington, a fine interpreter of Benjamin Britten, will join Fordingbridge Choral Society for a concert in the town next weekend.

Hetherington, pictured, the Decani Tenor at Salisbury Cathedral, has appeared with English National Opera, Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera and Opera North and has sung a vast range of music from the Evangelist in the Bach Passions, to Mozart and Verdi Requiems, Elgar and Beethoven, as well as the major works of Britten, recently singing the Canticles with James Bowman.

He will be performing Britten’s St Nicolas, joined at the concert by the choral society as well as Parnham Voices and the choristers of Sandroyd School, at 7.30pm on December 14. The programme also includes carols.

Tickets are available on 01425 654372, at £10 in advance, or £12 on the door.
