FOREST Forge theatre company is holding a special relaxed performance of its winter show, Anne of Green Gables.

The company is currently on tour with the show and will be holding the performance, which is designed especially for children and young people who are on the autistic spectrum or have learning difficulties, in Ringwood.

Forest Forge is one of the few companies to provide this type of accessible performance in a more rural setting.

It is leading the way in producing relaxed performances in Hampshire, supported by Hampshire Autistic Society.

Set in picturesque rural Canada, this family favourite tells the story of how one spirited child transforms the lives of a whole community.

Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert look to adopt a boy to help on their farm.

However, as in all good stories, things don’t go according to plan and instead they get red-haired orphan girl, Anne Shirley.

Anne has an infectious energy and joyful honesty that turns this sleepy world upside down.

Her exploits at home, at school and in the glorious Canadian countryside are shared by a host of memorable characters.

The relaxed performance will be held at the Forest Forge base, The Theatre Centre in Ringwood, on Thursday, January 2 at 2pm.

* Tickets are £5.50 and can be purchased online at forestforge.co.uk/shows/anne-ofgreen-gables, where details of other
performances can also be found.
