AN exciting new musical event blending jazz and choral music is being held in Salisbury later this month.
Will Todd’s Mass in Blue is an upbeat setting of the Latin mass for a four-part choir, soprano solo and jazz trio or ensemble.
The concert, by South Wilts School A Cappella Choir, soprano Bethany Halliday and the Will Todd trio with the composer at the piano, will be on January 25 at St Martin’s Church.
The concert will also include works by Victoria, Hassler, Bruckner and Skempton, providing a marked contrast in styles.
Tickets cost £12, or £8 for students, and are available from the Cross Keys Bookshop or from Elaine Wood at South Wilts on 01722 323326.
