WINTERBOURNE Opera members got their first chance to work with their new musical director at a recent all day opera workshop.
Calum Fraser and director Ben Occhipinti took the group through a chorus from Donizetti’s comic opera Elixir of Love, in preparation of the group’s production at Salisbury’s cattle market in July.
They were joined by Salisbury-born soprano Jessica Broad, who sang a couple of arias and took direction from the chorus members.
A spokesman said the day was enjoyable and successful, generating lots of good feedback.
Singers from across the south west can work with Fraser at Winterbourne Opera’s annual Come & Sing event at St Martin’s Church on February 15 from 11am to 5pm.
It costs £20 and includes lunch and tea.
Non-singers are welcome to watch a performance of Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice at 6.30pm, tickets will be £5.
