THE King of Cool himself will be coming to the Mayflower in Southampton next week.

The Fonz will be brought back to life on the stage in Happy Days – A New Musical, which started a national tour last month.

Based on the hit US TV show that ran from 1974 to 1984, the new show features the much-loved Cunningham family and the rest of the gang, not forgetting Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzerelli.

Directed and choreographed by Olivier Award nominee Andrew Wright and written by series creator Garry Marshall, Happy Days includes 21 original songs by Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe award-winning songwriter, Paul Hall.

Henry Winkler, the original Fonz from the television series, is the show’s creative consultant, and West End leading man and Emmerdale star Ben Freeman steps into his acting shoes.

He is joined by Cheryl Baker as Mrs Cunningham and Heidi Range of Sugababes fame as Pinky Tuscadero.

* Happy Days – A New Musical opens on Tuesday and runs until Saturday, February 15. Go to mayflower.org or call 02380 711811.
