FRANK Turner, Tom Odell and Squeeze have been announced as headline acts for this year’s Larmer Tree Festival.

Staff Benda Bilili, Stornoway, Dreadzone and Public Service Broadcasting will also be joining singer Tom Jones at the festival in July.

Squeeze will bring their trademark witty lyricism and guitar music to the stage on the Thursday night, with classics such as Up the Junction and Cool for Cats. Performing on Friday night will be folk-punk singer Frank Turner with his band The Sleeping Souls. and award-winning Staff Benda Bilili, a group of street musicians from Kinshasa, Congo, will be performing on Saturday.

At the core of the band are four paraplegic singers and guitarists backed by an all-acoustic rhythm section.

Nominated for best British male and breakthrough act at the 2014 Brit Awards, Tom Odell tops the bill on Sunday.

The festival will see 100 acts perform on six stages, alongside a comedy club, Mark Kermode’s Film Club, theatre, a variety of workshops and a range of children’s entertainment.

Other confirmed music acts include Ade Edmondson & the Bad Shepherds, La Chiva Gantiva, Hudson Taylor, We Were Evergreen, La Pegatina, Chloe Charles, CoCo and the Butterfields, O’Hooley & Tidow, Marcus Bonfanti and The Intermission Project, Georgia Ruth, Boppin’ B, Will and The People, Beans on Toast, Blackbeard’s Tea Party, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, and Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra.

Hat Fitz & Cara, Tantz, Rusty Shackle, Samsara, Truckstop Honeymoon, We Use to Make Things, The Dixie Strollers, Patch and the Giant, Ninebarrow, Pronghorn, Eyes for Gertrude and Yeti Love will also be performing.

Day tickets for the opening night with Tom Jones have already sold out, but five or sevenday festival tickets are still available.
