TALENTED young musicians performed two concerts at Salisbury City Hall on Sunday, March 23.
Around 425 musicians performed to a capacity crowd.
The afternoon concert featured strings groups, two choirs, the junior recorder group and the Salisbury Youth Orchestra. The concert ended with all the young players participating in Kelvin Towse’s A British Isles Fantasia, which included songs from around the UK.
The evening concert included performances by Salisbury Area Young Musicians’ four wind bands and two jazz groups.
John Glen MP and patron Rosemary Squires were special guests in a packed City Hall.
The musicians performed a wide range of pieces culminating in a rousing rendition of the theme from The Great Escape.
They were praised for their commitment and the quality of their performances which showed a true love of music.
