THE Nuffield Theatre in Southampton is taking on a project investigating the violent homophobic murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in 1998.
The Youth Theatre is performing The Laramie Project Cycle; two documentary plays investigating what happened to Mr Shepard.
He was abducted, beaten and left to die tied to a fencepost in a remote rural area outside Laramie, Wyoming. This will be the first time that the two plays have been performed as a double bill in repertory in the UK.
The plays, by Moisés Kaufman and members of The Tectonic Theatre Project, will be performed at the theatre from April 10 to 12.
