A RECITAL showcasing young professional musicians will be held in Salisbury next week.
The Salisbury Chamber Music Club Young Professionals recital – designed to give young musicians the opportunity to play professionally in their home city – will be at the United Reformed Church in Fisherton Street on April 26 from 7.30pm.
This year’s recital is by Bryony Moody on the cello, accompanied by Jamie Matthew on piano.
Moody is from a musical family in Salisbury and started learning the cello when she was a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral. She is now a freelance cellist and music teacher.
Matthew studied piano at Leeds University and in Strasbourg. He is currently a post-graduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Their programme will include music by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Kodaly and Barber.
Tickets are available on the door and cost £6 for non-members and £1.50 for students.
