A PACKED Salisbury pub enjoyed a series of new plays by local writers.
The Cloisters, in Catherine Street, hosted the Salisbury Fringe 2014 preview event as part of the Theatre Fest West season.
Local writers Alison Child, Linda Morse, Pete Talman, Sally Whyte and John Yates explored a range of subjects in their new plays, including the death of a female soldier and its impact on loved ones, greed induced by inheritance prospects, and an audience participation game show involving euthanasia decided by public vote.
The showcase of new writing covered a range of styles from the abstract to tragedy and black comedy, and was directed by Pete Talman and Andrew Thackeray.
The plays were performed by a cast of professional actors including James Bradwell, Lizzie Crarer, Tyler Coombes, Annie Cooper, Katie Dancey, Sam Holland, Laura Jasper, Oliver Malam, Joshua Mills, Kerry Stockwell and Jan Wyld. Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Salisbury Fringe 2014 of new writing will take place from October 3 to 5.
