CREATING a children’s show that parents enjoy too is quite a challenge, but all members of the audience were thoroughly entertained by Kid Carpet’s Blast Off at Salisbury Arts Centre on Saturday.

Space rockets, loud rock music, catchy songs (including one about someone being sick in a helmet) and mimicking voices are always going to be a hit with kids, and this show had them all.

Two performers, with the help of a brave crew of toys, blasted off into space to create a new sound for the Noisy Animals – the greatest rock band in the world.

They had all sorts of adventures on their travels, including falling through a black hole and the clever use of cameras and projections were very effective in putting the young audience at the heart of the action.

There were plenty of chances to join in and the youngsters and their parents flew their spaceships, laughed at flying ping pong balls and bopped along to the loud rock guitar songs in this creative and entertaining show.
