CELEBRATING the timeless melodic beauty and strength of traditional Irish music, Iontas is a new band that brings together four well-known figures from London's traditional Irish music scene.

The quartet explores the full range of traditional tunes and songs, from effervescent reels and quietly dramatic hornpipes to haunting ballads.

Karen Ryan and Pete Quinn have played in Salisbury before with The London Lasses, and are joined in Iontas by Conor Doherty and Elma McElligott.

The group will be playing at The Red Lion Hotel on Sunday, May 4, supported by Jadie Pepperell and Ryan Whitston.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 on the door.

Further information available from Finbarr Sheehan on 01722 413235.

A leaving collection will be held on behalf of Salisbury Hospice.
