REVIEW: Jimmy Carr

Salisbury Journal: REVIEW: Jimmy Carr REVIEW: Jimmy Carr

SALISBURY City Hall was packed for Jimmy Carr’s new show Funny Business on Tuesday evening, and it was easy to see why.

Carr had the audience laughing even before he took to the stage, and the laughs didn’t stop until the end.

The comic is well known for his dark, often offensive, comedy. And his clever one-liners and hilarious stories mixed well, with plenty of audience participation.

Carr encouraged hecklers and then put them down with his usual witty style.

His jokes covered a wide range of topics and many were close to the bone, but when you go to see Carr you know to leave your moral compass at the door.

I last saw Carr a few years ago and he has just got better over time – my sides were aching by the time I left.

Carr is returning to Salisbury with the same show on September 9.
