SALISBURY Cathedral’s organ scholar will showcase his talents at this year’s Jenkinson Recital next month.
Edward Reeve will play the cathedral’s Father Willis organ on June 18 for the fourth in this year’s recital series.
Reeve will be heading to Queens’ College Cambridge in September to take up an organ scholarship.
John Challenger, assistant director of music at the cathedral and organiser of the recital series, said: “It has been wonderful to watch Edward develop his organ playing since arriving at Salisbury.
“He is a superb all-round musician and this recital will showcase his musicianship as well as his developing relationship with our fine Willis organ.
“I encourage you to come along for what I know will be an excellent evening of music.”
Reeve’s programme features several masterworks with Bach’s great Prelude and Fugue in E flat and works by Handel, Alain and Elgar.
There is also the chance to hear his composition, Fantasia on a Plainsong Melody.
Tickets cost £8 and are available from salisburycathedral.org.uk or on the door.
