HISTORIAN turned comedian Al Murray is appearing at this year’s Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival.
As his alter-ego the Pub Landlord, Murray is one of the most popular comedians in the country, but he also has a life-long love of history and, in particular, is fascinated by the Second World War.
He has a history degree from Oxford University and has written a book called Watching War Movies With My Dad.
In this talk of the same name, Murray will be sharing some of his expert knowledge, much of which was gained from his father Lieutenant Colonel Ingram Murray, who served with the Royal Engineers.
He will be taking a wry and highly informed look at the conflict.
n Al Murray will be appearing at the Chalke Valley History Festival on Saturday, June 28 at 5pm. For tickets visit cvhf.org.uk.
