BOB Chilcott’s Salisbury Vespers was commissioned jointly by Salisbury Community Choir, Salisbury Musical Society, Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, Sarum Voices, St John Singers and the Farrant Singers back in 2009.
Conducted by David Halls, the first performance was given at the cathedral in association with Salisbury International Arts Festival.
On June 21, Salisbury Musical Society, together with the St John Singers, Salisbury Cathedral Choir and Salisbury Cathedral Junior Choir, will performthe work again under the direction of Ian Wicks.
The various choirs will be placed at different points in the cathedral and the seats will face inwards so the audience can see as well as hear what is going on.
Tickets at £17.50, £15 and £8 are available from Salisbury Playhouse on 01722 320333 or at salisburymusicalsociety.org.uk, or on the door.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
