THE Boscombe Down Aircraft Collection (BDAC), based at the museum in Old Sarum, commemorated the start of the First World War on Sunday by unveiling an art installation by Jennifer Stokes.
The installation was inspired by a replica biplane that is in the BDCA collection, which took five years to build.
The new work is made from fabric, wood and wire, which reflects the materials of early aeroplanes.
It is suspended from the hangar rafters at Old Sarum in remembrance of the pilots of the Royal Flying Corps who lost their lives during the Great War.
