A FREE community theatre workshop focussing on the Wiltshire Women of the First World War is taking place on Saturday, August 30.

Participants will be invited to write a short scene with actors and directors, learn improvisation techniques and play drama games.

They will also be learning and retelling the story of local heroine Dorothy Lawrence.

They are invited to bring along any information about female relatives from Wiltshire who lived during the war, but this is not essential.

The workshop is open to residents of St Martin’s & Cathedral or St Edmund’s & Milford wards.

No experience is necessary, just an interest in theatre and/or local First World War heritage.

The event runs from 2pm to 5pm at Hale Hall on Bedwin Street, Salisbury.
