NEW writers from Salisbury have written monologues inspired by an artist’s ceramic pots.

The monologues were written in response to Salisbury Arts Centre’s resident artist Mirka Golden-Hann’s work.

The best entries will be performed by professional actors at 2pm on October 4 as part of the Salisbury Fringe 2014.

The event, which sees bite-sized plays performed in pubs and cafes around the city, was deemed an “overwhelming success” following the inaugural event last year.

This year it will take place from October 3 to 5 and venues include Cosy Club, Cloisters, The Chapel, Boston Tea Party, Cross Keys Shopping Centre and the Urmson-Burnett Gallery and Studio.

As well as short new plays, on the Saturday afternoon, there is children’s theatre with Professor Fringenstein at the Cross Keys Shopping Centre, and on the Sunday afternoon, a script writing workshop at Boston Tea Party, led by Angela Street.

All the events are free, and regularly updated details about all of the events can be found by visiting salisburyfringe.org.uk.
