SUPPORTERS and fans of Salisbury Playhouse are being asked to vote for the theatre in a national competition.
The Playhouse is one of more than 220 arts venues taking part in the Most Welcoming Theatre Award in association with Smooth Radio. The winner will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony in London’s Guildhall on Sunday, October 19.
Online voting for this public award is open via the Smooth Radio website and closes on Monday.
To ensure a fair and competitive process, the public voting system will be partially weighted by theatre capacity to ensure smaller venues have as equal a chance of winning as larger theatres.
Sebastian Warrack, executive director of Salisbury Playhouse, said: “We know we have a very loyal and supportive audience and would love the public to get behind us by voting for Salisbury Playhouse.
"Winning the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre Award would be a fitting way to acknowledge the hard work our staff and volunteers do here.”
