SHAKESPEARE’S Macbeth is taking to the stage at Studio Theatre in Salisbury next week.

The tragedy, considered to be one of the playwright’s darkest and most powerful plays, has been produced to appeal to all ages and types of audience.

The production, chosen to be part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Open Stages 2013/16 project, is directed by Chris Hawley, and the tale will be told in a simple and clear manner with innovative visuals, live music and strong design.

The cast includes a number of Studio's Youth Theatre members.

Studio's Jackie Pilkington said: “This is your opportunity to introduce those who do not know the play to Macbeth, as it is such an accessible production.”

This is the second time Studio has been selected by the RSC. In 2011 Studio's production of Hamlet was picked to participate in the scheme, came top in the country and went on to perform at Stratford-on Avon.

Macbeth is at Studio Theatre, Ashley Road from October 13 to 18 at 7.30pm. Tickets from Salisbury Information Centre in Fish Row or on 01722 342860.
