TOP theatre critic Matt Trueman, who regularly writes for The Guardian, New Statesman and Time Out, offered some expert advice to Salisbury Playhouse’s young ambassadors.
A group of five young people with a keen interest in theatre met Trueman, who discussed the art of writing a good review, explaining who critics write their reviews for.
His visit came before a blogging project the young people will be running.
Salisbury Playhouse’s young ambassadors scheme gives people aged 14 to 21 the chance to learn more about the theatre and share their views.
They meet monthly to work on a range of projects that link the Playhouse’s work to young people in the community. Young ambassadors have the chance to review productions and are advocates for the theatre.
Trueman said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, it’s great to see young people so excited by theatre.”
