DORSET band Poacher's Moon with their commemorative production Poppies Red and Cornflowers Blue hope to raise a large amount of money for the Forest Fundraisers for the New Forest Young Carers on November 29 at Rockbourne Village Hall.

This local band have been thrilled with the enthusiastic response from communities across the county and beyond and are looking forward to welcoming people from the Salisbury area to their show which commemorates the Second World War.

Peter Gritton plays the part of the soldier from his trench on the stage, narrating intriguing true stories from Dorset soldiers on the frontline.

John Anderson’s band of six, including guitars, cello, keyboard, flute and percussion, play and sing his original songs with sensitivity, humour and skill.

Images are projected throughout the performance on to a large screen.

The band were very excited to be asked to play songs from the show at the BBC World War One at Home Roadshow and their song Dream of England has been recorded by top folk artist Johnny Coppin on his new album.
