THE Bemerton Players were presented with a unique opportunity for this year’s pantomime with a number of young actors joining the group.

It meant that they could put on a production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, with the kids playing the parts of the dwarfs.

Co-producer Sally Marshall said: “Snow White is such a great pantomime for kids to be involved in. The parts of the Seven Dwarfs are ideal in size and scope for youngsters at all levels of experience.” The production is also an all-female affair, with Frankie Collingwood directing, and the usual jokes, songs, dancing and slapstick are guaranteed.

The audience will get to boo and hiss at the Wicked Queen, laugh at the antics of Muddles, cheer for the heroes Snow White and the Prince and sing along to some Christmas numbers.

Frankie said: “We were pleased that last year we were able to donate the £250 profits to the Stars Appeal CT Scanner Campaign.

“This year we are supporting local hospital radio, Radio Odstock. They do such good work entertaining and cheering up the staff and the patients there.”

It is taking place at the St Michael's Community Centre, Bemerton Heath, from today until Saturday.

Tickets cost £5 for children and concessions, £7 for adults or £22 for a family.

They are available to buy online at bemertonplayers.co.uk, by phone on 07450 198152, at A Stitch 4 Everything shop in Brown Street, or on the door.
