MIKE Sainsbury, a line dance teacher of 18 years experience, is setting up a new Western Partner dancing class in January on Mondays from 8.30pm to 10pm at Porton Memorial Hall.
For couples who want something less serious than “strictly” ballroom, this is an informal, friendly and fun way to meet new friends and get fit to great country music.
People of all ages get involved and, once you’ve learned some basic steps and holds, you can soon learn lots of country and western dances. It’s a combination of dance styles, some slow and smooth, others more upbeat – there’s something for everyone.
