A HOST of shows for young theatre-goers feature in the forthcoming spring/summer 2015 season at Salisbury Playhouse.

From classic stories and nursery rhymes to new shows about roller-skating mice, splashing about in the bath and a tap dancing mermaid, there are plenty of theatrical treats for young children and their parents.

Mice on Skates, on January 31, follows some ingenious mice who find a good way to escape pesky cats as they whizz around Europe in search of new cheeses in this fun-filled show that features fantastic puppets.

Live action poetry and animation feature in Old Macdonald Had a Farm, which takes centre stage on February 17. It includes games, giggles and sing-a-long songs.

And in February half-term, children aged five to 11 will be given the chance to create their own show, working alongside Salisbury Playhouse staff, at Two Plays in a Day on February 18 and 19.

On February 20, Robin’s Winter Adventure comes to the Playhouse. The show combines puppetry, music and poetry to tell the story of bravery and friendship.

There will be plenty of bath-time antics, including splashing, singing and bubble beards, in Bath Time, which is on February 21. The show features storytelling, music, comedy and there will be plenty chances to join in.

Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company is back in the main house for an Easter holiday treat from April 9 to 11 with Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Puppets, music, and dancing will entertain audiences in The Tap Dancing Mermaid on April 25.
