PIANIST John Reid will join the Eberle Quartet for a performance in St Martin’s Church, Salisbury on February 1.

The quartet will come together in the second Eberle ‘Plus’ concert of the season and will perform the popular piant quintets of Elgar and Schumann.

John began his musical life as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral and five years later returned to the city to be an organ scholar.

The pianist went on to study at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music where he is now an Associate.

In 2004 he won the Gerald Moore Award and in 2003 he was awarded the Kathleen Ferrier and Maggie Teyte Pianist Prizes. Reid performs regularly in various venues in London and has recorded a number of times for BBC Radio 3.

He is kept increasingly busy with his work as a chamber music coach and with teaching posts at Royal Academy of Music and Goldsmiths College.

Tickets are available on the door and entry costs £14 for adults, £5 for students and is free for under-18s.

Tea and cake is included and the performance starts at 2.30pm.
