THE multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer will be performing in Sixpenny Handley on Saturday (February 21) – two weeks after he had to postpone his gig due to illness.

Beer, who is half of the West Country’s award-winning acoustic duo Show of Hands, will be launching the 2015 live music schedule for Sixpenny Sessions.

Described as a true craftsman, a master musician and consummate performer, Beer has been performing for more than 36 years.

Penny Mansergh of Sixpenny Sessions said: “We were so disappointed to have to postpone the gig on February 6 at very short notice having all but sold out, but we are absolutely delighted to now welcome Phil Beer to Sixpenny Handley on Saturday to kick start our schedule of regular gigs and well and truly put us on the local live music map.

“Phil has a vast amount of material to draw on and his solo gigs are quite simply a treat of past and current favourites from one of the most popular musicians on the acoustic circuit.

“We do hope that everyone who has already bought a ticket will be able to join us for what promises to be a fabulous evening but obviously anyone who is unable to attend the gig on the new date will receive a refund.”
