DAVID Marx & The AK-Poets have two upcoming gigs in Salisbury.
The first is tomorrow at The Five Bells in Salt Lane and the second on April 4 at Qudos in Castle Street.
Originally from Swindon, singer, songwriter and producer Marx has lived in London, New York, Brighton and Berlin and says the many, reverberating, social influences of the international cities can be heard throughout his three albums.
Having previously recorded with members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, XTC and The Waterboys as well as Jimmy Pursey and Johnny Thunders, his material has been compared to the likes of Tom Waits and The Beatles, Doctor Feelgood and Elvis Costello, Ray LaMontagne and The Clash.
Both Salisbury gigs start at 9pm.
